Custom Application Development

Custom app development for the work your software does not cover

Every organization has a process running on spreadsheets, email threads and one person’s memory. CIRRUS builds the web and mobile applications that replace it — secure, documented, integrated with the systems you already run, and supported by the same team that manages your infrastructure.

What We Build

Application development services

Purpose-built software, sized to the problem. Most engagements start as a single workflow and grow because the first one worked.

Mobile Applications

Cross-platform iOS and Android applications built in Flutter from a single codebase: offline-capable field data capture, inspections, photo documentation, push notifications and app store deployment.

Web Applications & Portals

Client, member, employee and vendor portals with authentication, role-based permissions, document exchange, status tracking and self-service that removes phone calls from your staff’s day.

Workflow Automation

Approval chains, intake and routing, scheduled reporting, notification rules and integrations that eliminate the manual re-keying of data between systems that never talked to each other.

Database Design & Migration

Relational and document data models, migration from spreadsheets and legacy databases, data cleansing and validation, indexing and query tuning, with backup and retention designed in.

API & Systems Integration

Connecting accounting, CRM, project management, payroll and line-of-business systems through documented APIs, webhooks and scheduled synchronization, with error handling and alerting.

Reporting & Dashboards

Operational and executive dashboards that pull from live systems rather than a monthly export, with role-scoped visibility, scheduled distribution and export for board or grantor reporting.

How We Build

Software you can hand to someone else

Custom software fails when it becomes a black box only its author understands. We build to be inherited: documented architecture, source code you own, standard frameworks and no proprietary lock-in.

  • You own the source code and the cloud accounts — always
  • Mainstream frameworks and managed cloud services, not bespoke infrastructure
  • Security designed in: least-privilege access, encrypted data at rest and in transit, audit logging
  • Phased delivery with a working increment you can use before the project ends
  • Architecture documentation, runbooks and admin training at handoff
  • Optional ongoing support and enhancement under a managed agreement

Delivery Phases

Discovery

Process mapping, user interviews, data audit and a written functional specification with acceptance criteria

Prototype

Clickable prototype of the core workflow so the people who will use it can react before code is written

Build

Iterative development in short cycles with a demo at the end of each, and a staging environment you can test in

Launch

Data migration, user acceptance testing, training, phased rollout and hypercare support through the first cycle

Support

Monitoring, patching, dependency updates, enhancement backlog and a defined response time for defects

App Development FAQ

Before you commission software

How much does a custom application cost?

Cost tracks scope, integrations and compliance requirements far more than platform. A single-workflow internal tool is a different order of magnitude from a multi-role portal with payment processing. We quote a fixed price per phase after discovery so you are never approving an open-ended budget.

Should we build custom or buy off the shelf?

Buy when a mature product covers 80 percent of the need. Build when the process is the competitive advantage, when licensing scales badly against your user count, or when no product fits the way your industry actually works. We will tell you honestly which case you are in, including when the answer is that you should not hire us.

Who owns the code?

You do. Source code, repositories, cloud accounts and data belong to your organization and are transferred at project close. There is no scenario in which changing providers means rebuilding from scratch.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Yes. Most of our work involves integrating with something already in place — accounting, CRM, project management, HR or a legacy database. Where an API exists we use it; where one does not, we build a controlled synchronization path.

Describe the process that is costing you time

A short discovery conversation is usually enough to tell whether software is the right answer and roughly what it would take.
